How secure is my communication on BestInterest?
BestInterest protects app communication with encryption in transit, protected storage, authenticated access, and permissions for private and shared records.
App communication and storage
Connections between the BestInterest app and our services use HTTPS/TLS. Stored records use the protections provided by our cloud infrastructure. Your account’s access controls determine which records you can open; your connected coparent can access shared communication and family records.
BestInterest processes content to provide messaging, filtering, coaching, reports, and support. Authorized service providers and personnel can process information for those purposes as described in our Privacy Policy. This is not a claim of end-to-end encryption where only the two parents hold decryption keys.
Boundary Line texts and calls
Boundary Line uses phone carriers for SMS, MMS, and telephone calls. Those carrier portions do not receive the same app-to-service HTTPS protection. Messages sent to your personal number remain outside BestInterest.
Control who sees records
Your coparent cannot see private Journal entries, Coach conversations, or unsent drafts. You can separately approve categories for the Professional Portal or share an individual record with your Professionals Team. Review what your coparent can see and manage professional access.
Use App Privacy Lock on a supported phone, keep message previews off if you want content hidden on the lock screen, and protect downloaded reports and shared Calendar links. Files you send outside BestInterest are controlled by their destination.
